OEKO TEX 100, MADE IN GREEN, or SA 8000: Certifications and seals may sound like a lot, but sometimes they mean less. Our production is one of the most thoughtful in the textile industry, which is why we are naturally accredited with all the important certifications. However, we are not just after accolades; we genuinely aim to set new standards. That's why we have set our own, even higher standards, summarized in our Code of Care: We use high-quality, matured organic cotton for all our products, under fair conditions, of course. Additionally, we ensure truly good working conditions in our own factories and guarantee that no toxic substances are used in any stage of production

Production also includes packaging – with us, it's 100% recycling and even zero-waste

Plastic, plastic, plastic – unfortunately still the sad standard for packaging in the textile industry. At schlafgut, we actively work against this and were one of the first manufacturers in the Home & Living sector to completely ban polybags from our packaging. Instead, our packaging is either made from 100% recycled materials or, in line with the circular economy, even zero-waste. We are truly proud of this innovative packaging because we developed it ourselves – from design to production. Made from recycled paper waste from our region, it produces neither waste nor toxins and requires very little water.

Thoughtful production with fair working conditions and no long transportation routes.

Why can we be so sure that our production is fair and environmentally friendly? Because we set the rules – from selecting raw materials to manufacturing in our own factory in Turkey. Among schlafgut's principles is to avoid toxic substances and to consolidate as many production steps as possible in one location to prevent long transportation routes with high CO2 emissions. Additionally, we not only pay fair wages but also support our employees on-site with free healthcare, childcare, and even their own school.

When it comes to innovation and pioneering spirit, we feel a bit like we do with labels and certifications. The joy of something new and ideas that truly make things better are much more important to us than the corresponding label. Additionally, we're equally interested in two things: innovative products and innovative production. This means that, for example, we didn't just invent the fitted sheet, but we also made organic cotton a standard for all our products as one of the first manufacturers. Moreover, we don't just integrate high-tech processing methods and fabrics from the apparel industry; we also use the latest methods to produce packaging with the smallest possible footprint. And we have much more in store for the future.
